Microgaming & NetEnt Win Award at the Global Gaming Awards

The world’s first ever Global Gaming Awards ceremony took place in the Titian Ballroom, Venetian Palazzo Congress Center, Las Vegas, on Monday September 29th, 2014. Microgaming and Net Entertainment (NetEnt) were just two major companies that received an award for their achievements over the past year.
Some of the biggest names in the online and offline gambling industry were in attendance and altogether there were twelve individual categories. A panel of 50 industry leaders were there to judge the event and these judges crowned the following winners: The Digital Product of the Year award went to Microgaming and the Runner Up was Net Entertainment.
Other nominees in this same category included Skrill, Optimal Payments, JT Global, Greentube, Continent 8 Technologies, BetConstruct, Amaya Gaming and Akamon Entertainment. “It's an honour to take home the award for Digital Product of the Year. What makes the award so special is that it was voted for by a panel of judges which comprised some of the biggest names in the gaming industry. We've been recognised by our peers,” said Microgaming’s CEO, Roger Raatgever.
He then went on to say, “We've had a busy year releasing some epic games to the industry, including our Terminator 2™ online slot in June, followed by our Jurassic Park™ online slot in August. I take this opportunity to say a big well done to everyone involved in our game development – this is an award for you all.” The comments came from the official Microgaming website.
Net Entertainment (known as NetEnt) also didn’t go away empty-handed. This leading software provider won the Digital Gaming Innovation of the Year award and the Runner Up for this category was WMS Gaming. Other nominees in this category included Yggdrasil, Odobo, NextGen Gaming, Income Access, FSB Technology, Core Gaming, Coral and Colossus Bets.
Speaking about this win was NetEnt’s President and CEO, Per Eriksson, “NetEnt prides itself on innovation and it’s an honour to be recognized for our work at the Global Gaming Awards.” He continued, “We strongly encourage innovation and frequently organize internal activities to enhance it and our dedication to creativity allows us to continue to drive the online casino market forward.” These comments came from NetEnt’s official website.
Some of the other award winners included Denise Coates (Executive of the Year, Bet365), MGM Resorts International (Responsible Business of the Year), GTECH (Land-Based Gaming Innovation of the Year), GTECH (Digital Industry Supplier of the Year), IGT (Land-Based Industry Supplier of the Year), MGM M Life (Customer Loyalty of the Year)Income Access (Digital Acquisition Program of the Year), Aristocrat (Casino Product of the Year), 888 (Digital Operator of the Year) and MGM Resorts International (Land-Based Operator of the Year).
